The Cons of Social Networking

I was reading a good post over at BlogBloke. It was about the end of social networking. He is very against social netwotking and I can understand why. I realize that everything he says is true - but I have to say that I like it for the ’social’ part of it. Not trying to sell something, not trying to boost my rankings…just to connect with old friends and make new one’s.
So they may be negative - but at the core, where they are pure - they are just fun.
What are your thoughts?
