Can You Re-Post Old Posts?
I was thinking about this as I was reading a blog that has been around for a while (Working at Home on the Internet) and has a lot of posts. Some of the information that was written a while ago is a little golden nugget. I would love if it was re-posted so I would not have to search for the information. But is it okay to re-post?
So my first thought is “yes!” Re-post all you want. So I did some research to see what others are saying. Well - it looks like reposting happens. Many times it is because the author is taking a break, is having some kind of block or it is a part of a series and important.
That being said it is nice to turn comments off, so people don’t re-comment, or just say that it is a re-post. People who may have read the post before should just consider themselves as very “with it” and not worry about the re-post.
What are your thoughts on re-posting?

Hey Brooke,
I understand what you are saying, but a lot of the posts that seem to draw the most views from the SE’s are the older ones that come directly to that post.
The only alternative for me (RE-posting is not an option) is to write something new on the old information.
Any posts or area in particular that you think should be redone?
That is very true Joe - and I like the idea of expanding on an article. But if you don’t have the time - you can repost - personal preference I guess. Though I have not done it myself either!
Brooke - What I’ll do from time to time is use the “Featured Post” feature of TypePad to feature (bring to the top position) and older (and forgotten) jewel of a post.
THEN . . .If it turns out to be popular . . .my http://feedjit.com/ widget will rank it in the “Popular Pages Today” window.
That widget has turned out to be the BEST WIDGET I’ve tried for increasing page views.
It shows at a glance what people are interested in, AND even though a page may have dropped off the homepage of my blog . . .there’s still a link available.

Thank you Brian! I forgot about that ’sticky’ feature that I have in worpress - I might be using that!
